I applied for Urban Outfitters after one of my old friends told me she was working there. I figured I needed a job in the city, and thought retail would be one of the easier jobs to start off with so I called them inquiring about hiring etc. They said they were hosting open interviews every Wednesday and Thursday, so I showed up for the Thursday one. You basically fill out an application before the actual interview which has things like prior work experiences and a few questions like "who's your fashion inspiration" and "what do you consider to be good customer service." I'm not sure if they actually do take a serious look at these answers, but take some time to write them down just to be safe. I was interviewed with one other guy that day. I was kind of surprised since I've heard that a lot of people usually show up for these things. The interview lasted for only about 5 minutes since the guy only had about three questions to ask us. One thing I didn't really like was that he basically sat us down in the middle of the store for the interview; the music was so loud and I honestly couldn't hear what he was saying. Anyways, after the interview was done, he said something about like how they'll send us an e-mail soon. It's only been a week so I'm not sure what's gonna happen with my application, but that's basically my experience with them. Overall, it was a pretty relaxed interview.
