I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Urban Outfitters (Los Angeles, CA) in Oct 2012
Interview
I applied online and got a call back within the same week. The manager let me know that it was going to be a group interview and at first I was intimidated, but when I got there the group only consisted of 5 other people. They asked us 3 questions total and told us to raise our hands whenever we wanted to answer. This part is crucial because they're only going to let 2 or 3 people answer, so to show that you're interested you should always be the first to answer! The first question was what customer service meant to us. The next question was about loss prevention and what we would do in those situations. And finally we were asked to answer questions on our "person style" and what kind of music we were into. It sounds pretty ridiculous to ask such a superficial question, but obviously Urban Outfitters is trying to sell a certain look, so if you're into they're stuff (or at least sound like you are) you'll have better chances of getting hired. Out of the 6 of us, they kept 4 and gave us all a slip to take an online survey. After the survey I was contacted by the store manager for a final interview which went awesome. The interview went more like a conversation instead of just questions and answers.

Interview
Quick interview around 20 mins, asked pretty standard customer service questions. Manager who interviewed was nice. Asked about hobbies outside of work, if I was in school, how many hours a week I was looking for

Interview
The interview is done in a group of about 5-10 people. A manager asks a couple of behavioral questions, and everyone goes around answering. The vibes are pretty chill, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't prepare! It just means you don't have to be nervous.
