I applied online. I interviewed at VIPKid (Elkin, NC) in Jul 2017
Interview
The interview process was very good. At first, we discussed my family and grandchildren. Then discussed my teaching experience in NC public schools. I do have a master's in education specializing in special ed., so I actually shared some of the same students with the ESL teachers. We would team teach at times, so this helpedMy interview was a couple of minutes late, but did message me on screen. She acted as a five year old child would, which is what they told me to expect. Her actions were equivalent with that learning level. Overall, it was a great process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked about my educational background and experience teaching.
Got hired as a British speaking then cancelled as not from America which I disclosed at the first interview which I think was silly and unprofessional at the time it was during covid when this happpened.
Very lenghthy interview process, but the interviewers were nice and helpful. There were several steps to the process and it was pretty involved. I had to prepare a lesson beforehand
It was easy an straightforward. 1 interview and 2 mock classes to pass. They offer a contract for a year with option to renew after 1st contract is over. Overall the process last for about 2 weeks from the time you apply unless you are waitlisted.
