Very smooth overall. Initial Interview -- A basic interview conducted through VIPKID's virtual classroom. Mine was with "Bella." The interviewers speak English, but their accents can be very thick and hard to understand. Act very peppy, excited, basically like a Disney character -- that is the personality they want. Short interview asking about my degree, how much experience I had teaching, where I heard about VIPKID, etc, basically making sure I checked all their boxes. Then a short sample class taught to the interviewer, who acted like a 6 year old child. At the end, if you pass, they offer a salary and give you quick tips on how to pass your mock classes. You will be sent an email with practice materials and instructions on arranging your mock classes. Mock 1 - A class given to one of VIPKID's active teachers, who are American, so far easier to talk with and understand. My mock class teacher was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. I taught two classes, one for lower level students (level 2, who speak almost no English) and one for higher level students (levels 3-6, who can speak in full sentences and answer direct questions). I did well enough that I was automatically passed and did not have to do a Mock 2. I had to submit my documentation (drivers license, degree, tax stuff, payment stuff, background check approval, etc.) and create my teacher profile, and I was good to go. Mock 2 - I was accepted by my Mock 1, so I did not have to do a Mock 2.
