I applied in-person. I interviewed at VIPKid (Silver Spring, MD)
Interview
VIPKid does not encourage a diverse community and may be difficult for people of color. The company has little to no diversity. During the interview process majority were white females hosting the zoom call and promotional advertisements. The interview process lacks honesty and transparency. Interviewers were finding minuscule things to write me off. I was marked off for singing a morning chant on my second interview however on my first interview my interviewer applauded me. My third try included basis as well for my background positioning (had nothing to do with lesson) and for not using a prop. Their is no grading rubric for the mock class therefore you are not sure what you will be marked off on during the mock class. The mock class leaves the ruling for employment in the hands of prejudice and racism.
