Before covid, living out of state, my first few interviews were online. They asked me questions about how I felt I'd fit into the role and left me lots of room to ask questions about what I'd be doing each day. I was sure to tell them how strong my drive was and I think they dug that.
Got an in person interview after 3 interviews like that. The in person interview took nearly all day where I met most of my team. I was offered the job in the next few days.

I was contacted by HR about an open senior designer role. I accepted and sent over my portfolio. I did an initial screening phone interview with HR that covered the basics of the company. Got a 2nd interview scheduled with a creative director who had NO interest in the interview right from the beginning . He was obviously working on stuff while not clearly answering my questions since he wasn’t paying attention. I was only asked to talk through a random project of my choice, and I could literally see he wasn’t listening. He also cut the interview short due to a “scheduling conflict”. Then at the end I was told I’ll interview with another CD but was ghosted. Seemed like they already had a candidate in mind and there was some missing communication between HR and the team. Disappointed because I was excited for the opportunity after seeing their work but just felt used.
