I was contacted on LinkedIn by a VTS recruiter. I had never heard of VTS but I was starting a new job search so we set up a call to chat. The conversation was pretty casual but it led to another phone call the next week with the SVP of Engineering. These conversations gave me a good sense of the role and the company (along with their engineering values) and I was definitely interested so they brought me onsite for an interview the following week. I think I was onsite for a full morning - I spoke to the recruiter again, met with the QA team and did a practical exercise, met with a senior PM, and again spoke to the SVP of Eng.
The whole experience was positive - everyone I met was warm and engaging and I really liked getting a peek of the atmosphere in the office. I think they called me later that day or the next to let me know I was a strong candidate for an offer and I met for coffee with the SVP of Eng to chat one more time and get a verbal offer.
I really liked all the points of contact I had through this process. I felt that all my questions and concerns were heard and that they were genuinely excited to have me join the team. My concerns about working at a startup were definitely calmed by getting to see the teams at work and also getting answers to my questions about their processes.
