I do not think I can adequately convey how dysfunctional the interview process with VTS eventually became. It started relatively straight-forward with a phone screen; followed by a video interview; and then an additional final video interview.
I had to follow up prior to both video interviews to get a status update, let alone if next steps were happening, and then again after the final interview.
Unfortunately, after the final interview during a debrief when I was offered the position, it's base salary was $15k what had initially been discussed and the timeframe was extremely tight in terms of start date, after having discussed a different, preferred timeline.
After relaying that I would like to think on the offer and review it in writing (which was extended on a Thursday) over the weekend, I never received it though did receive a calendar invitation to discuss further the following Monday.
At no point between when the offer was extended and the scheduled follow-up did I receive anything in writing in regards to the offer, benefits, discussed compensation, etc.
During the follow up conversation I was told that the company "must have gotten me confused with someone else" by way of an explanation for never having sent the written offer but also that they would not be able to accept any of the changes I had requested in regards to the offer and "what did I think".
I can understand and appreciate an extremely fast-paced and high-growth environment but this felt lazy, unprofessional, and manipulative.
When I declined the offer since I quite literally had never received it in writing and asked where and how I could share feedback about the process, it was relayed that I would be sent something; nothing was ever sent, whether it was going to be a survey, etc.
