      Technical Support Representative Interview

      Feb 20, 2024
      Anonymous employee
      Pleasanton, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Vagaro (Pleasanton, CA) in Feb 2024

      Interview

Applied directly on company website. 2 weeks later, got an email inviting me to chat. That email outlined important aspects of the job such as potential schedule, the fact that it's in-office everyday, the pay range (reiterating since they already included pay range on job posting), and start date which was exactly a month away. A few days later, I had a brief 20ish mins call with the HR recruiter. She was very nice and clear throughout the whole process. On my end, I told her I was in talks with other opportunities, so we both had incentive to move along rapidly. The next day, she followed up to say they would like to move forward with an interview with a technical support manager via video call. This was not the direct manager for the position I would fill, but that interview was helpful because she emphasized the role would be less technical than my past jobs, that it would be mainly a busy call center environment, mostly being on phone with customers, and also described the tool they use to track performance. I got a very good sense of the environment, pace, and expectations from talking with this manager. Our interview lasted about 40 mins. I passed that round and they scheduled me for an in-office interview with another tech support manager (the direct manager for that role). They didn't give me a tour of the office, but I didn't ask either. If you make it that far in the process and want a tour, I'm sure you can just ask and they'll show you around. Anyway we met in a room and he asked some of the same questions as the other manager. But of course it was important to get to know his specific background, managing style, etc since he would be your actual manager. He also showed me the graph/tool used to track performance and productivity for this role, so you know how you are being measured. Important as it's directly linked to potential bonus pay. This interview lasted about 30 mins if my memory serves me correctly. I got an offer a few days later, and we had some discussion regarding my other opportunity, and another few days passed before we came to an agreement again. From the initial email from HR recruiter to this agreement was less than 3 weeks. Pro-Tip: There might be a variety of shifts you can be hired for. Ask about how different schedules might impact compensation, as there could be variations in pay range.
