Interview
A week after I applied I received a phone call to schedule a video interview for the next week. The HR was friendly but I quickly felt that she did not have any technical knowledge when asking questions of my technical background. She was mostly asking and writing only when hearing technology name and years of experience for which I previously specified everything on my CV and a cover letter, leading me to think they didn't even read any of my sent documents before interviewing.
They straight asked for my salary expectations and I've said that I would be happy if they can match my last salary. She was mentioning that they hired 70 new people in 3 years and acquiring another company - and their follow up question was: "So you would not work for less?". I was confused because this salary was the average of my position 2 years ago as per public poll statistics. I asked them if my salary numbers are in their budget range for this position to which she evaded this question saying she didn't know they they're just passing this info to someone else and I would be contacted the next week on phone to schedule a technical interview.
Three weeks passed and I received an automated rejection template email. I forwarded this email to the job email of the interviewer asking to explain what does "position role was changed to a different direction" and "did my qualifications fit the role or was there something to improve". Few weeks later I still haven't seen any reply.
An unpleasant experience and waste of both our time.
