I applied online. I interviewed at Valtech (Stockholm, Stockholm) in Feb 2021
Interview
Had a quick "coffee meeting" with a recruiter from the company over a video call. An OK experience until the subject of salary exceptions came up and my expectations were, according to the recruiter, "way too high for the industry".
The expectation I had was "around 40 000 SEK" and frankly got surprised by the response from the recruiter. Having done some benchmarking prior to the interview, I knew from my colleagues in the industry that the ask was right in line with what is common for a designer my level in the Swedish market. The recruiter said that it was way too high and that I "cannot expect that from someone with my experience and profile". I did not get an offer due to this reason.
I later got a role at another agency and was offered 45 000 which I accepted.
I'm sure they are a great company with nice people, but I was disappointed by the approach and the apparent lack of knowledge of the market.
Or poor pay is a part of their business model. I don't know)
