I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Vanguard (Malvern, PA)
Interview
I applied online through my school's job portal and was contacted to have a phone interview. That was loaded with the standard questions: why your major? what are your goals? what do you know about Vanguard?. After that I was invited for an interview for any of their 3 campuses. Chose the closest one and was provided with a hotel room for the night before. The in-person interview consisted of a Vanguard presentation (expected to be in the role for 1.5 years top), then a role playing exercise with a distraught client, then a 2 on 1 interview where they asked standard behavioral questions. STAR- describe your Situation, what Task did you need to do, what Action did you take, and what was the Result.

Question 1
Describe a time when you had a difficult teammate?
The interview process was pretty standard, starting with a phone interview and then moving to a virtual team meeting with the recruiter. Very friendly and open to answering your questions.

Question 1
What do you know about Vanguard?
Tell me about a time... handling a customer, difficulties, multitasking
Seamless process with very kind people. They made it easy to talk about my experience prior and answered all of my questions honestly. They went by fairly quickly but it felt more like a conversation than an interview.

Got a phone interview that lasted 20 minutes asking about your background and why you are interested in the company. Then they schedule for another with the hiring manager virtually.
