My initial phone interview was an unscheduled phone call with an HR representative. That immediately led to a series of face to face interviews on a prescribed day. I had to take the day off from my current employer, but I did not mind as interest seemed high and the fit appeared to be ideal. After the series of face to face interviews, I followed up with handwritten thank you notes and email messages. The HR representative even discussed salary with me and an offer appeared to be imminent. For at least a year, I followed up with them via email and LinkedIn to get a definitive answer but to no avail. It was my first and only experience with a company that could be that unprofessional. I now know this is referred to as "ghosting". Do you really want to work for such an organization?
