I was contacted to interview for the position about 3 months after applying for the job. The recruiter was very nice, and we had a great conversation. He was so impressed with my background that he said he was going to put me on the calendar directly with the hiring manager. A couple weeks later, he emailed saying he couldn't access his notes about our interview (which to me it appears he lost them), and if I could send him a summary of my experience. I sent it over within just a few hours, and did not hear back for another week or two. He again emailed me regarding some specific details on products I had previously managed, which again I responded right away. For the next two months I heard nothing from him, even though I checked in every so often to see if we could put an interview with the hiring manager on the books. Then one day, I received a standard rejection email that I did not get the job. No explanation. I have since applied for several similar positions, hoping that the HR interviewer would remember how great our conversation was, but have never received an interview since then. It's both baffling and disappointing. Although I am a US Citizen and this is a US-based company, I am currently living abroad. The jobs were all listed as remote, but the only thing I can think of which caused me not to move on with the process is that I am outside of the US. However, I wish they would disclose that to me rather than not explaining why there was such a strange turn of events. I would love to work for the company, but at this point applying to future opportunities seems futile.
