Got contacted by a recruiter. He set up a Phone interview with the hiring manager very quickly thereafter. After I solicited feedback, I was given positive feedback but was told to wait for next steps. Then he went silent on me for a week. Finally, responded to email citing another reason for a delay and was asked to hang tight. Numerous pings later, I was told that the position was filled. I am speculating, they always had a candidate that was going to be offered this position. They interviewed me and perhaps others to check a box.
