Veeva Systems Senior Data Scientist interview questions

I interviewed with a European-based data team for a machine learning position. The team works on Veeva Link product. The interview in my case had four stages: - Hiring manager interview. - Technical interview (though I wouldn't really call it purely technical; it mostly focused on my work experience and included some machine learning-related details and a couple of easy questions about how to approach specific problems). - A take-home task. With 3h time limit, nothing special. - A "Job History" interview, which, in fact, was conducted by a different person (data scientist) than originally intended (director of data science). I expected it to be a standard behavioural interview. But it involved a 30-minute conversation about my childhood and answering very personal questions. It felt really awkward and unnecessary. After the last interview, I didn't hear from them for 10 days. Since I had another job offer on the horizon, I inquired about the expected timeline for their feedback regarding the last interview. Unfortunately, I was ghosted and never received any response from them, except for an auto-generated rejection email that arrived one month later. Overall, all the people I interacted with were nice. However, due to the awkwardness of the fourth stage and being left in the dark after investing a lot of effort, especially with the three-hour home task, I would classify my overall experience as negative.

4 Interviews and a coding challenge: 1. General things like why switch jobs, why veeva, ... 2. Tech skills, machine learning, practical and theoretical questions 3. Job History Interview: talking about entire education and career paths and why choices were made for this or that. 4. Why Veeva/cultural fit: Checking personality and work ethic, internal and external motivation
