      Cient Coordinator Interview

      Feb 12, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Phoenix, AZ
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Vericast (Phoenix, AZ) in Feb 2015

      Interview

I found the position via a job alert and applied online. About a week later, I was contacted via email and was asked for a telephone interview with one of their corporate recruiters. The telephone interview went very well, and I was told to expect a call back within a few days to set up an in-person interview. That call came within the timeline given, and the in-person interview was with two individuals, neither of whom were based out of the office where the position would be located. The interview lasted about 45 minutes, and was very behavioral-based. Both interviewers spent a lot of time writing down the answers to the questions they asked. I applied for a similar position with Valassis in 2012, and their process is virtually identical. My biggest criticism would be the lack of follow-through on the part of recruiting/HR when a candidate does not make it to the offer stage. I was not offered a position three years ago and I believe the same is true this time around. I badly wanted this job in 2012 and it took several attempts before I was finally told that I was not selected. My recent in-person interview took place a little over a week ago, and I have not heard one word, which is fine in this case because I've since accepted a position with a different company. A word of caution: Valassis has recently been acquired and is now going through the various pangs associated with an acquisition. At this time, the acquiring entity is maintaining separate domains/email addresses, databases, etc. I learned this during the in-person interview. However, I feel confident that the separation currently in place will not be the permanent business model they adopt. This is coming from the painful learning experience I've gone through after being laid off from two different companies, both as a result of post-acquisition reorganizations.
