I was 1 of 2 women (that I knew of) interviewing as internal hires. We both had very bad experiences with this interviewer and took our names out of the running because we felt unwelcomed by this interviewer. He pushed me for several minutes to "admit" that I wouldn't have time for this job, even though I was continuously insisting that I would. He also tried to push me to "admit" that I would struggle due to my lack of experience, despite it being an entry-level position, and he did this after he had just bragged about their amazing training videos. There were several times when the interviewer would ask me a question, then as I began to answer it he would interrupt me and act like that's not the question he just asked. There was something else that occurred along these same lines but this was almost a year ago so the memories are a little fuzzy, but there was more. In the end, I concluded that he either struggled with interviews, or there was a reason me and the other woman who interviewed had the same experience. I know that this is not the attitude of the whole company, this was the only time at Verisys that I ever felt my gender affected my position.
