I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Verizon (Basking Ridge, NJ)
Interview
HR lead reached out for phone interview. Once I passed that, I had a phone interview with their head of executive communications. It was clear she hadn’t read my resume. She went on about how she wouldn’t be there forever so she wanted to “train the new generation.” (I was older than her but she clearly hadn’t read my resume. Lol) and she only hired “nice people.” She said I was her first interview and she was super busy so it would take a few weeks to hear back. When I reached out to recruiter like a month later I was told they were “passing on my background.”
The job is still open.
I suspect it was ageism but they would never admit that, would they? Maybe I wasn’t “nice” enough.” Lol The HR contact was great though and did tell me my 120k salary requirement wasn’t a problem so if you are up for it, at least ask for that.
