      Solutions Specialist Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Verizon (Houston, TX)

      Interview

First, you must complete the assessment. Once that's done and it looks good, a recruiter gets in contact with you. The recruiter got in contact with about a week or two after my application. The call went great! I had a good feeling about it. However, after that things pretty much went downhill. It took about 3 weeks for me to hear from a hiring manager. The recruiter explained the location I had applied to was downsizing - not true. I was then referred to a different location where I met with the first hiring manager. Again, great interview! I had an even better feeling about it. I was told I would hear back by the end of the week, I never did. I called to follow up and was told I would hear back the following week, I never did. However, I did hear from two other stores - one of which happened to be the store that was supposedly downsizing. I agreed to interview with them, but at this point my excitement for the company had gone down. I had turned down a different job opportunity because I thought I had a potential career at Verizon based on the feedback I kept receiving, so at this point, I had to keep trying. I interviewed with the other hiring manager and right away I felt that interview was not so hot. I was told I would hear back the following week, which I did. But only to receive bad news that I wasn't a good fit. After that, I canceled my interview with the other Verizon store because I was done with them. I understand they are a huge company that offer great benefits and therefore it's competitive to get in, but respecting potential hires and their times is still valuable and important. Anyways, it was a terrible experience. Their organization leaves more to be desired and aside from their good benefits, it doesn't seem like they care much for their employees.

      Interview

Interview process was pretty straightforward. They tend to bypass a lot of the fluff and want to see how you act as a member of a team and what you are going to do when you are in a tough situation regarding numbers and meeting “quota.”
