      Solutions Specialist Interview

      Oct 11, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Pace, FL
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Pace, FL) in Oct 2015

      Interview

Long, drawn-out process. Frustrating. Applied online through indeed, took assessment, then about 2 weeks later, got an email to schedule a phone interview with a recruiter. Due to my current work schedule that week, there were no time frames that were ideal and there were only 3 days available on the list of possible dates and times, but booked time regardless and took a longer than usual lunch during work. Interviewer was 20 minutes late calling and the interview lasted 30 minutes. He was hard to understand on the phone. Behavior based questions and role play for the item of the month they send in the email document before interview. Read over that. Verizon is big on the Credo questions. Passed phone interview and was told I had to meet with a store manager within 48 hours ("even if the 48 hours fell on a weekend," I was told. Also, he said pay was between $10-$13 an hour + commission. The interview was Friday, so... I sat by phone all weekend waiting on phone call. No call. Monday morning I get a phone call from a store manager from a location here in Florida I've never heard of. I literally had to ask him for the address because when I searched for the store in this city, it didn't show up. So I had to drive an hour to meet him and the district manager. We shake hands and then we head to a very small room for an interview. They went through my retail background and sales. Asked me maybe 4 behavioral question, credo quesiton, and I asked 2 at the end. I asked them about their backgrounds with Verizon. It worries me when I go to interviews and I'm not interviewed with a multitude of questions. They didn't seem to care about my educational background that much either, which I found odd.

Interview process was pretty straightforward. They tend to bypass a lot of the fluff and want to see how you act as a member of a team and what you are going to do when you are in a tough situation regarding numbers and meeting “quota.”
