Iv'e heard the interview process is rigorous, like 4-5 interviews that consist over the course of 1-3 months. For me, it was very quick. I had applied to numerous Verizon stores before in mass about 3 or 4 times with denial emails for even an initial phone interview. I applied online because I've always wanted to work for Verizon, but I got started at Verizon Retailer, Diamond Wireless. This time, a few days later a recruiter contacted me for a phone interview. I could have scheduled it the next day but did the next week to prepare. I was given the credo and an accessory for the month as expected (I already knew Verizon and used glassdoor to prepare). During the phone interview, there was an extreme amount of situational questions based on STAR format. It ended with a role play. She gave me advice and had me do a second role play to see if i absorbed her info.After the interview the recruiter asked to schedule a store interview the next day but did next week due to scheduling conflicts. At the in store interview i forgot my darn resume, but the manager let me print one out at the store. First he had me go from my most recent employer to my oldest and describe them (kinda vague on what he wanted me to describe). I absolutely avoided saying anything negative. I just said how long i worked at each, how long it took me to move up, what i learned, and that every job had a positive experience.He then asked me situational questions but didn't seem interested in them. The questions are long so be prepared they're meant to to test your attention span. He would ask me for more info on my answers so don't be a deuce like me give details the first time. He seemed more interested with my work at Diamond Wireless. After the questions he asked me to role play him being a customer coming in for a case after he got a new phone. Even though he didn't probe anything besides a case, I already knew what he would want to hear, which is showing him other products based on his life style. I asked open ended questions like "What is your normal day routine" "what do you do for work". He told me he broke his phone while exercising so i showed him Fitbits, He said he had a daughter so I showed him security systems. He said he and his wife had other devices at home so i showed him a mobile hotspot. All of this information i asked for and discovered, he was very closed about it. "How do you monitor your heart rate when you workout?", "How do you keep tabs on your daughter when you're not home?", "how do you connect your devices when you don't have WIFI?" Ask a lot of questions about him. He remained neutral through the whole interview which is expected but still threw me off. I could tell the the role play impressed him, as his expression changed and he literally said, "I don't really have any advice for you, you did good." I was expecting to get feedback as thats what they look for, to see if you're trainable. So if they give you advice, get your bobble head going with a smile and a "Oh, I never thought of it like that thats good!" They might have you do it again just make sure to regurgitate the advice they give you. At the end of the interview i asked the manager questions as i always do such as "what is the next step," "what are your advancement opportunities like'"The next day I got a call from the recruiter offering me the job. We did my background check which my manger told me could take anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months (I have a hard time believing that). Mine took 4 days. They say it is very extensive, i dont know if its true. My resume is honest but off. I had to give them more accurate dates. In total, the interview took about 3-4 weeks, but had i rapidly done every step, i basically got the job in about a week. I'm still shocked how quick the process was, i expected differently, I start in 2 days and am excited as can be.
