It was a long process with shifting timelines. Difficulty in having interviewees attend interviews on-time - late/reschedules, etc. Multiple answers to my culture questions related to burn out. Highly matrixed organization.
Spoke with a recruiter, then panel interviews... it was an ok experience. They recruited me vs. me applying so I felt like it was a waste of my time because at the end of it, they told me they didn't think I had the breadth of experience they were looking for? So....... why reach out?
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Vertex Pharmaceuticals (London, England) in May 2024
Interview
Initial screening phase of 3 x 30mins HR interviews. Followed by 6 fairly informal 30min interviews (2 x business, HR, hiring manager, peer, senior exec leader). Finally, a case study presentation with the panel. All interviewers and interactions were pleasant and did not feel like an interview which speaks to the culture. Overall process is too lengthy as the style of case study is unnecessary for the supposed level of seniority. At best the case study is a tick box exercise or at worst a way to obtain ideas from unsuccessful candidates
