Applied online via Linkedin and received email contact for a phone interview within a week. The initial phone interview was conducted on a Friday afternoon, which according to some recent study, is a bad time to make any big decisions or impressions, and the phone call lasted for almost exactly 30 minutes, if not under. The rejection email came 3 business days later. The response time throughout the exchange was great, almost immediately. One thing I thought was odd was that the employee asked me to call, instead of them calling me to initiate the interview. I am assuming that they must be pretty busy on their end that they don't want to miss an appointment because of matters right in front. One can also assume that perhaps the fate of the interview was already sealed when you have to initiate because the interview is simply to be added as a number on the recruitment record, while the position was already filled by perhaps an internal candidate that they had picked.
