I had a couple of rounds of phone interview followed by onsite. While I had very clearly asked about coding requirements beforehand, I was shocked to see that they asked so many questions on C++ ( they had specifically mentioned python or C++ on their requirements. ). They announced the result after 3 weeks or more and told me that they were rejecting due to insufficient coding skills in C++. If they were so keen on C++ they could have told me when i asked them during phone interviews and I would not have wasted my time. The phone interviews were very light and had a simple coding problem to solve and they mostly talked about my research. The onsite was a nonstop barrage of interviews including during lunch (which is standard as per my experience with most of the companies). Some interviewers appeared very ill prepared. They had no idea about my background or what I had done, I guess because they did not attend my presentation. But some of them were very interested and asked great questions.
