The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Victoria's Secret (Portland, OR) in Sep 2011
Interview
Went in and submitted an application and was interviewed on the spot by the manager on duty. She asked me about why I wanted to work there and liked that my response wasn't just about how I love the brand. She also liked that I had open availability so she put a note on my app for the hiring manager, giving me a leg up. I was called for a group interview a week or two later. My interview had three other girls, all of them close to my age but all of them have more limited schedules, being students. We interviewed with a manager out in the mall and it was fairly casual chatting. She said they were looking to hire about 15 people since the holiday season is coming up and we would hear in about a week. That was Tuesday. A week from that Tuesday, I called to check in and they said they would start calling that Friday. I didn't get the call until Monday afternoon, so it was a little longer than expected, but they offered me the job and I start training next week. Overall, it was a fairly simple process and they seem open to employees with little to no retail experience.
I had a group interview with two other girls. It took about 30 minutes for the interview portion. It was mostly in depth customer service and tell me about a time questions

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Victoria's Secret
Interview
The interview was done as a group and was pretty casual. The hiring manager asked a mix of situational and behavioural questions, about 3-4. For me personally as I was hired during a seasonal period, having an open availability seemed to be key

Question 1
Tell me about yourself, why do you want to work for VS, can you recall a situation, tell me about a time when you dealt with a difficult customer and how did you handle it
Hiring managers prioritize your personality, availability, and customer service mindset, looking for candidates who are friendly, adaptable, reliable, and comfortable engaging with customers, rather than focusing heavily on prior experience or technical skills.
