I submitted my application and heard back from the store manager about 2 weeks later asking me to come in for an interview. After reading reviews of others' experiences, I expected that it would be a group interview and mentally prepared myself for that. When I got there, though, I found out that it was going to be just me. I was about 10 minutes early, so I walked around the store after checking in. My interviewer was about 20 minutes late, so I was waiting around for quite a while, but I was able to talk with a few of the other girls and get a feel for the store. The interview was fairly short. She asked me about previous experiences and what I learned that would help me in the store. She told me more about what my role would entail and sounded positive. She said that I would hear from her on the following Tuesday after she had time to check my references, and that if I didn't hear back by then to try again next holiday season. I left feeling pretty positive and quite sure that I would hear back from her. Tuesday came and went and I didn't hear back :( I was pretty sure that it was a 'no' since she had been pretty clear and specific about Tuesday being the day, so I didn't expect to hear anything from her. Eight days later I got a call back! I've started my orientation process and will begin working next week.
