I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Victoria's Secret (San Bruno, CA) in Jun 2009
Interview
It was a group interview, and there were about 20 of us. Most of us there were wearing the black top and black pants uniform, though some had a colored top on. The manager talked about the store, and then we went down the line asking us about our past job experiences. We also had to share our name and a little bit of information about ourselves (where we went to school, our current school, our major or plans). Then we were asked to pull something out of our bags and attempt to sell it to the manager. We also had to talk about where we live, which was unfair since the manager made it quite clear that she had a bias towards hiring people from the area since she had grown up in San Bruno. She definitely showed more interest in people if they mentioned they had gone to her alma mater for high school. Since I didn't unfortunately, I didn't get as warm of a response from her. In the end I didn't get this job, but found another one afterwards, so it wasn't a huge deal.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Victoria's Secret
Interview
The interview was done as a group and was pretty casual. The hiring manager asked a mix of situational and behavioural questions, about 3-4. For me personally as I was hired during a seasonal period, having an open availability seemed to be key

Question 1
Tell me about yourself, why do you want to work for VS, can you recall a situation, tell me about a time when you dealt with a difficult customer and how did you handle it
Hiring managers prioritize your personality, availability, and customer service mindset, looking for candidates who are friendly, adaptable, reliable, and comfortable engaging with customers, rather than focusing heavily on prior experience or technical skills.
Very easy, first a phone call then meeting in person. Took a while to be seen in person even after the scheduled meeting time, they had me just kind of stand in a corner for a while waiting for someone to become available.
