I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Victoria's Secret (Tracy, CA) in Oct 2010
Interview
I printed an application online and submitted it in the store I wanted to work for. I asked for the manager especially when giving my application. Within two days after handing it in, I had received a phone call asking to schedule an interview the day after. It was a group interview (of course) but when I arrived the next day, we had to reschedule the interview again (along with two other people that showed up) to another date due to a miscommunication error from the manager who was to be interviewing us.
When the interview day finally came, there were four people in total. We all sat in the back room facing the manager as she asked us general sales associate-type questions like:
Why would you like to work for Victoria's Secret?
Describe a time where you had to work as a team.
Overall, it was a positive experience and a fairly simple and easy interview.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Victoria's Secret
Interview
The interview was done as a group and was pretty casual. The hiring manager asked a mix of situational and behavioural questions, about 3-4. For me personally as I was hired during a seasonal period, having an open availability seemed to be key
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself, why do you want to work for VS, can you recall a situation, tell me about a time when you dealt with a difficult customer and how did you handle it
Hiring managers prioritize your personality, availability, and customer service mindset, looking for candidates who are friendly, adaptable, reliable, and comfortable engaging with customers, rather than focusing heavily on prior experience or technical skills.
Very easy, first a phone call then meeting in person. Took a while to be seen in person even after the scheduled meeting time, they had me just kind of stand in a corner for a while waiting for someone to become available.
