I applied in-person. I interviewed at Victoria's Secret (Cupertino, CA) in Jun 2011
Interview
They took me to the back and asked me some standard questions. Then for half an hour they had me put on a Victoria's Secret apron and stand at the front of the store as a greeter. Then they said it was okay for me to leave. It was like they scheduled interviews one after another and made each interviewer stand as a greeter for half an hour to fill in for someone who didn't show up for their shift. One girl who worked there told me I have to be really outgoing in order to get hired.
Hiring managers prioritize your personality, availability, and customer service mindset, looking for candidates who are friendly, adaptable, reliable, and comfortable engaging with customers, rather than focusing heavily on prior experience or technical skills.
Very easy, first a phone call then meeting in person. Took a while to be seen in person even after the scheduled meeting time, they had me just kind of stand in a corner for a while waiting for someone to become available.
