      Senior Product Manager Interview

      Interview

Visa seriously needs to up their game on how they handle candidates. In the past year, I have interviewed for three different roles at Visa. With the first role, I had a phone screen with the recruiter but was notified shortly afterwards that the role had been cancelled. No issues there - it happens. A few months later, I interviewed with another team in Visa. I had a phone screen and then a phone interview with the hiring manager. After a couple of weeks, I followed up with the recruiter to check on the status of my application. He informed me that they had decided to move forward with other candidates. No hard feelings as to why they didn't choose me...but why didn't the recruiter proactively notify me that I was no longer in consideration for the role? That's the least he could have done. A couple months after that, I interviewed for yet another role in Visa. This time, I had made it to the final round, which was an onsite interview, which lasted several hours and involved meeting each person on the team. The hiring manager had actually been emailing me directly, and as an applicant/interviewee, it was confusing to me who should be my main point of contact (as I had previously been in touch with the recruiter as well). After this final interview, I never heard from Visa again. At this point, this is just a bad look for Visa. If a candidate goes out of his/her way to commute to your office and spend several hours meeting your team, the least you can do is send an email notifying the candidate that he/she will not be receiving a job offer. I am just surprised that this effectively happened to me twice in the same year. Unacceptable, and rude, in my opinion.

      Interview

Applied for a Senior Product Manager role and completed detailed screening questions via email before being invited to a recruiter screening call. The conversation quickly shifted away from the role I had applied for and towards a vague "potential" future opportunity with the same team that couldn't be clearly explained. We even discussed a possible salary range (the recruiter negotiated me down), but there was no job description, no defined role, and no concrete next steps. I was told I would need to apply if the role became available. After the call, I received no update, so I followed up. But no response. I then saw online a less senior Product Manager role with the same team that had opened. I applied and let the recruiter know as it looked like it was the role she hinted about, then followed up again two weeks later after hearing nothing. Two weeks after that, the only response I received was an automated rejection email. The recruiter I spoke with was personable, but the overall process felt disjointed and amateurish. After being encouraged to apply for another role, I expected at least a conversation or a personalised update rather than an automated rejection a month later. If a role is exploratory, part of future hiring plans, or no longer available, I'd much rather know that upfront. Clear communication and consistent follow-up would have made for a much better candidate experience. Visa is a company with a strong reputation, so this hiring process was disappointing. You can do better.

Everyone was lovely, but long process. Talent acquisition team out of Singapore are hard to get hold of, you don’t get contact details which makes it hard to follow up.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Visa Inc. in Nov 2025

      Interview

There were four interview rounds—peer, associated team, hiring manager, and senior director—each lasting about 30 minutes. The interviewers were punctual, patient, and friendly, making the process itself positive. However, it has been nearly a month with no follow-up from HR, which significantly impacted the overall experience due to the lack of closure.
