Given CodeSignal OA with 4 questions, 2 easy, 2 medium LeetCode-style. Four weeks later I was told in an email my score was passing and I was moving onto the next round, and I was asked for availability to schedule a quick call. I never received that call, but two weeks after that email I was given an interview date scheduled for a few days out (without any other notice).
Interview was three rounds on the same day, scheduled back-to-back with 5-10 minutes break between each round. Interview rounds consisted of:
- behavioral questions and 1 coding question on OOP principles
- technical questions focused on software testing and 1 coding question on OOP principles
- technical focused on system design (describe setting up an example system from interviewer's prompt)
Received rejection call a week later, and told "their policies prevented them from giving feedback," despite friends and several other reviews saying they could request feedback for other SWE positions.
Overall, while I enjoyed my time with the interviewers (very polite, very chill people) - and thought I had done very well based on some feedback given during the interviews - the Visa HR recruiting / hiring team has horrible communication practices, or maybe the one I was assigned was terrible at their job. All of my questions and availability was completely ignored and I was left to feel caught off guard the entire process. This experience, coupled with my previous experiences, have left me uncertain whether applying to Visa is a waste of my time.
