I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Vista Equity Partners in Jan 2024
Interview
Interview process was very detailed and thorough, but VERY well-managed, transparent, and thoughtful. I was assigned a talent person who was my coordinator throughout - had several behavioral/experience-based interviews with several senior members of the team. If you know Vista, you know that these folks are typically extremely busy, so getting the chance to get facetime with them as just a candidate was impactful.
The interview process culminated in a detailed case study presentation with several of those senior team members. The case study was designed to be close to what my day-to-day role would consist of, and was also delivered in a manner that was mindful of the fact that I am still a full-time employee at another firm while searching for my next opportunity.
All-in-all, I probably met with 8 or 9 senior investment team members, all of whom were extremely personable, genuinely interested, and offered excellent feedback. Compensation expectations were set early and upfront so as not to waste anyone's time, which I also greatly appreciated.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Vista Equity Partners in Aug 2025
Interview
They conducted 5 different interviews and 1 case study, still were not sure if they wanted to continue with the process or if they had made up their minds. In the end, they did not give me any kind of feedback and just told me that I was not being considered, over a text (after I followed up multiple times with the hiring manager).
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Vista Equity Partners (Austin, TX)
Interview
A brief online test, followed by a phone screen, followed by a superday in Austin. It was very long and tiring, and not helped by the fact that I slept 5 hours the night before after my flight was delayed. Rounds of behavioral interviews, technical questions, and an excel based LBO. I think I did well in parts but bombed one of the technical interviews so not surprised not to get an offer. Everyone was very nice.
