I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Visual Concepts (Novato, CA) in Nov 2022
Interview
A relatively swift process once it got started, though there were some initial troubles getting contact started with the recruiter. After the initial screening call, there was an hour call with the hiring manager to gauge interest and basic technical abilities, as well as game industry experience. Next was a coding sample using WPF (~4 hours). After reviewing of the coding sample, another one-hour technical interview, and after that was a virtual on-site of 3 interviews, a mix of technical, values, and communication, all with developers on the team.

Question 1
Can you describe the technical differences between a struct and a class?
Very nice people, interview went like you having a chat with a friend. Generally they are very proud of developing their products. Technical interview can be difficult, if you are a perfectionist and want to solve everything in time.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Visual Concepts (Novato, CA) in Aug 2024
Interview
The recruiter was friendly, and the take-home task was straightforward. However, the interview process felt outdated and unnecessarily long, especially for such low pay, with a noticeable lack of diversity among the interviewers. Many red flags were raised—it feels like a dodged bullet.

Question 1
Fixing bug in shuffling code, shortest path algorithm, Bunnies question.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Visual Concepts (Novato, CA) in Mar 2023
Interview
Recruiter call, then take-home coding exercise, then hiring manager 1:1. I felt it was misleading, because I was asked to do a take-home coding project which I successfully completed and it was well-coded with the correct results, but then I was told the hiring manager did not want to talk. I don't believe this was based on my work but on another reason that was not disclosed to me. So I was asked to spend hours on a coding project that was probably not reviewed.
