First interview with two directors who were very nice. The pay range was stated as 90-130k but they admitted that they would likely not be able to even get 110k for the role so that was misleading. Second interview was with engineers. Completed a take-home technical challenge that took several hours and they were happy with my result. Was put on the spot by a person who just joined the team several months ago and asked to do an unplanned technical coding challenge after I stated I don't use Leetcode. They proceeded to ask me a question directly from Leetcode (best day to buy stock based on a list) to try to trip me up in front of 7 interviewers on the panel. They successfully made me look like I didn't know what I was doing. If you're hiring for a data engineer role, know that most people aren't SWE grinding Leetcode, especially for that salary.
