      Residential Outside Sales Representative Interview

      I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Vivax Pros (Denver, CO) in Dec 2019

      Interview

      1) Initial phone call to set up phone interview. 2) Phone interview with COO. 3) Interview with 3 sales managers. 4) Interview with CEO, COO, and Sales Manager. The interview process is very lengthy and extremely time-consuming. They pay a very low base salary of $45K and hold ALL your commissions based on revenue and pay it to you ONCE A YEAR. I have never heard of a company doing this. WHY????? So they can go invest that money and make money all year on it? So they can fire you for no reason right before the end of the year? So if they go out of business you're screwed? Sounds like a very unfair situation to me where the salesperson is completely taken advantage of. The salesperson is required to drive to 4 appointments/day (1.5 hour appts. with approx. 22 minutes drive time between appts.) - 5 days/week. That's your schedule all year long while being paid only your base. They hold all the revenue commissions for 12 months and only God knows if you'll ever see the money you earned all year.

      Question 1

      The company asks you to watch a Simon Sinek video and write your personal "Why" statement. (For your life) Unless you already have something like this on hand, it takes quite a bit of time and effort to do it right. I spent many hours on this. I find that interviews with companies like this that ask you to filet yourself open to them and also have you spend a bunch of time and effort on assignments before getting hired... don't end well.

We are very selective around who we bring on to the team and have created an interview process that does include additional asks around why you would be a fit for the opportunity and we appreciate the time and effort candidates put in to defining why they are the best candidate for Vivax Pros. We make every effort to deliver the best information around our compensation process and want to make sure that the information is correct - our Sales Team is paid their salary weekly and have three separate bonuses based on different KPI’s. Their first bonus is paid monthly; the second is paid quarterly and the final is the annual volume bonus which is paid out once a year.
