The statistician position in Chicago office has been posted on line for quite bit of while. I applied online and got quick reply from HR, this is positive. Arranged to talk to the director, the talk was nice and the director is very knowledgeable and open minded, got on-site interview right after the talk. The onsite interview was not as friendly as the talk with director. The lower level colleagues asked so many harsh questions, very detailed coding questions. From their questions, you can tell that is what you knew and learnt. As to the deeper statistical modeling questions, obviously they know very little. This position is "Statistician" should mainly focus on modeling and statistical part, not on the detailed coding level. No one can memorize every detail of the code level, you can always google the details. Obviously, the current two employees are not happy to hire a new statistician and would stick to current low level analysis with raw counts. I'd bat they will never find a suitable excellent Statistician ! I will see this advertise opening on line forever unless the director fired those two dumb employees and recruite talented ones.
