Very fast response. I interviewed within a week of submitting the application. Unfortunately, it seemed like the company or recruiter and I had conflicting or unrealistic expectations, mostly because their job ad was seriously lacking:
1) Logistics - job was advertised as remote, but the recruiter wanted applicants to live close to the office to go in once things were safe. (The available apartment buildings were 1.5 hours from the town, one way. ) Company policy is no relocation expenses for new hires outside the office's commutable area.
2) Expectations - Workers were expected to report to work 4/5 weekdays for data entry, but this activity is possible working remotely until the company determines things are safe. They were shooting for 4-5 months remote work. (PS: The small town was experiencing repeated COVID19 outbreaks because most people work in the pork factories where it's hard to mitigate transmission. This was not acknowledged in the interview. Nor was there any kind of mitigation plan once employees went in. I thought this was strange for a healthcare company where client managers met with hospitals, vendors, etc.)
3) Salary Range - Not posted in the ad. Recruiter asked for a number before going into the details of the role. Applicants are forced to say a random number. Ranges and qualifications (like education or specific approaches, accomplishments, and skills) weren't very helpful because those weren't in the posting either. (So be prepared to go low! So low the number is barely above poverty...)
The recruiter was very upbeat, prompt, friendly, and pointed though! It would have helped both the company and the applicant if the company posted ads with three sentences of description for the job duties, skills used, specifics on mitigation policies, and a salary range. That way, I would choose to not apply for this role.
