      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at WP Engine (Austin, TX)

      Interview

The summation of my experience of the hiring and interview process was that communication was really poor, the wait between replies was really long, and it was largely an unfortunate waste of time in back-and-forth and multiple emails going unanswered for weeks at a time. Either the hiring team is extremely, unequivocally understaffed, or there needs to be a serious reconsideration of their workflow. I ended up getting the job, but the time it took to do so was extremely painful. I never once got a reply within one week from the last follow-up question I asked. I was also left wondering what was going on for weeks after my initial phone call. I was unable to make it to one of the meet and greets, but it seems that going that route may be the only way to not be strung along for a long time in the hiring process.
