I submitted an application online. After a few weeks got an email from a recruiter saying how she liked my resume and to contact her a few weeks later if I was still interested. Contacted a few weeks later, not to hear back. Fast forward 6 months and I am contacted by another recruiter who found my resume in their dstabase and asks me if I am still interested. This time I go in for an interview after studying some material supplied by the recruiter. Interview wasn't technical at all, seemed to be more of a culture thing. Wear a geeky shirt and you'll probably be hired on the spot. Interviewer seemed uncomfortable when I asked about them using Linode servers. Recruiter told me on the way out I would know by the end of the day if I got the job, never heard back from them.

I received an email to schedule a phone call. We went back and forth for a little bit about a good time. I got two different options, one did not work as it was less than 24 hours and I could not commit to that so I opted for the following week after a big holiday. I did not get any confirmation (which I believe is important from a recruiter) so I emailed them in the morning to hopefully get an answer. Thankfully, I did, they followed through and called at the time said. However, this is where the negative experience happened. I felt like I was being rushed through the whole phone call, which made me even more nervous to begin with. The recruiter seemed highly uninterested in the answers or what I had to say. That being said, it continuously made me feel more nervous, like I was being too chatty (which I was not) but it seemed like she was relieved when I would answer something so she could just move on to the next question. This was highly disappointing as I prepared so much for this phone call and WP Engine was my preferred company from other interviews I have had. There was no chance during that phone call to have a normal conversation and highlight my skills or personality at all.
