Interview
The interview process was appropriate for the position. The interviewers were very personable, and asked good questions. I would say that there were probably more rounds of interviews than needed.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a time when a project was going wrong and what was done to turn it around.
Pre-interview questionnaire profiled project management experience. Basic questions on how you run a project, your background in project management, types of projects handled, etc. The interview itself was a team interview with PMO directors and HR. PMO directors were new and it showed. HR provided nothing to the process and were most likely there to make sure inappropriate questions were not asked. A computerized post-interview skills assessment was required within 48 hours of the interview, consisted of 40 questions similar to ones in the PMP certification.

Having to explain the entire project management process 3 times (questionnaire, interview and again in the skills assessment.) Seems like they could have come up with more efficient methods to decide on staff.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at WPS Health Solutions (Madison, WI)
Interview
The hiring process took only a week. Interviewed only once in person. Panel consisted of direct manager and two PMs that asked questions about experience and methodologies. PMs very friendly but manager seemed "too busy" to be there.

Question 1
The most difficult questions were anything from the manager, who didn't seem like he knew anything about project management.
