I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Walgreens in Nov 2012
Interview
When I applied I had no retail or pharmacy related experience. Applied Online twice (application expired the first time because of the 90 day app life cycle). Was not called for an interview during the application period. After reapplying the second time, I got a phone call to come in for an interview 2-3 weeks later.
The day of my interview I was asked to complete the computer assessment. This is very easy it requires basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), alphabetizing and matching skills. Honestly you don't need a calculator. If you do then the job will be tough on you (you will need to enter scripts on the computer and calculate day supply, etc). This portion takes around 10-15 mins but you are not given any time-limit.
The next piece is the actual interview. You are asked a series of standardized questions which are the same for all new prospects. These questions are not technical. They are questions about yourself and how you handle stress. I was asked around 10-12 questions which were all stated word-per-word in other reviews mentioned here. This segment takes around 30-45 mins. After that they tell you that they have other interviews to conduct but they will let you know if you got the job after they are all finished. I think this is just a way to get rid of you so you wont bother them. **TIP** Before they start the interview they say that you can take some time to answer the questions but try to answer the questions as fast as possible. You are graded on your ability to come up with quick answers (on a scale of 1 - 10).
Three days later I got called again asking me to come in for a drug test. They gave me a document which is valid for 24hrs, I went to the nearest Quest-Diagnostics Testing Center and completed it. Waited another 3-4 days before getting another call that I was cleared and I started the job the next day.

I applied online. I interviewed at Walgreens (Wheeling, IL) in Jun 2026
Interview
I applied online and was contacted to schedule an interview. The interview was straightforward and mostly focused on my availability, customer service experience, teamwork, and why I wanted to work in a pharmacy setting. They asked behavioral questions about handling difficult customers, working with coworkers, and staying organized in a busy environment. The pharmacist interviewed me and was professional, explained the role, expectations, and next steps clearly. The store manager was also present and took notes. I am still waiting to hear back about an offer.

I applied online. I interviewed at Walgreens (Warren, NJ) in May 2026
Interview
Straightforward, started off with introductions. Focused on experience, comfortability with learning new skills, interest in healthcare and Walgreens as a company. It was important to show how and why you’re interested in healthcare.

Question 1
Take me through a day in the life of your previous place of employment.
Very easy and laid back interview process. Unfortunately, Walgreens doesn’t have a great retention rate so they hire who they can as long as you tell them you have an interest in working long term.
