I applied online. I interviewed at Walgreens (Milwaukee, WI) in Apr 2013
Interview
I applied online about four days before I was called about an interview. As part of their selection process, they require you take a skills assessment in-store. The first part of the application is done online, however. The second assessment consisted of multiple questions. These questions were relatively okay to answer but took some time to complete intelligently. The store manager will tell you this test should take about 30 minutes, but if you actually complete it with thought, the test will take about an hour or more. The questions involved deal with which positions you applied for. I believe I applied for photo, pharmacy tech, and something else. The questions generated for these involve looking at coupons and stating what was not listed on the coupon, making change for a customer, looking over prescriptions, and questions about customer situations. For my first interview, I met with a very nice woman in the photo department. She was friendly, on-time, joked with me, and seemed around my age. The interview lasted about 30 minutes. I did not have a second interview because the pharmacy manager was incredibly busy. I was hired during this interview.

I applied online. I interviewed at Walgreens (Wheeling, IL) in Jun 2026
Interview
I applied online and was contacted to schedule an interview. The interview was straightforward and mostly focused on my availability, customer service experience, teamwork, and why I wanted to work in a pharmacy setting. They asked behavioral questions about handling difficult customers, working with coworkers, and staying organized in a busy environment. The pharmacist interviewed me and was professional, explained the role, expectations, and next steps clearly. The store manager was also present and took notes. I am still waiting to hear back about an offer.

Straightforward, started off with introductions. Focused on experience, comfortability with learning new skills, interest in healthcare and Walgreens as a company. It was important to show how and why you’re interested in healthcare.

Question 1
Take me through a day in the life of your previous place of employment.
Very easy and laid back interview process. Unfortunately, Walgreens doesn’t have a great retention rate so they hire who they can as long as you tell them you have an interest in working long term.
