      Sales Associate Interview

      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Walmart (Saddle Brook, NJ) in Jul 2017

      Interview

Interviewer was 55 minutes late- yes, FIFTY FIVE (55) MINUTES LATE. Not 5. Not 15. But 55. Almost 1 hour. When he arrived, he greeted me but made no apology to his extreme tardiness. He chose to give me a tour of the back room instead of asking me the standard interview questions. He then explained the job roles for the Cap 2 position that I applied for. He introduced me to some of the other workers there, and one of other managers expressed doubt in the form of laughing and joking as to whether I would be a good fit for the role due to my small stature, claiming that Cap 2 is very physically demanding. I found this to be massively insulting but kept it to myself, insisting that I would be able to perform the job functions as I consider myself to be a hard worker. After the tour, the interviewer began to ask me questions. He asked me one question and apparently didn't like the answer I gave, because he then said that that was all the questions he had for me. I asked about how they would follow up with me and they said to expect an email or phone call within a few days. All in all, this was a 2 hour interview (including the time spent waiting for the interviewer to arrive and the pre-interview tour of the backroom) for an entry-level Walmart job, in which I did not receive an offer for. Needless to say, this has been the worst interview experience in my life (no exaggeration), and I will not be applying to this particular store again.

Solid and very well informative process. It was straightforward and well put together. I really enjoyed the people that I interacted with and ultimately chose another route due to time constraints.
