Internal candidate. Had been applying since April via the internal applicant site. You can only apply to three requisitions at a time so make sure to follow up with hiring managers. Sometimes dead requisitions will stay active for months before someone clears them out and if you're not getting a position it's important to know so you can withdraw to apply for another one. Received an interview offer after following up with the Market Manager. Normally applicants will follow up with the Market HR Manager, but if one is not present applicants will end up contacting the Market Manager or the Store Manager. Interview was a phone conference interview with two store managers. They were friendly, professional and helpful. Nothing was rushed. The interview consisted of 7 Assistant Manager competency questions (all of which can be found here on this website.) The interview lasted approximately 40 minutes.

It was a very long interview. The store manager kept me waiting for about twenty minutes. Afterward, I was led into an office, where I met the manager of another store. They both took turns asking me questions, very in-depth questions, like: 1) "name an instance when you were required to execute judgement in a situation based on information. In hindsight, what would have you done differently, should that situation arise in the future?" From what I gleaned from the interview, the demands and the hours of this position are grueling.
