There was around 40 people and we were split into groups of around 8-10, with two current cast members leading the interview for each group. As well as the questions asked below, we were given a team-work task of building a tower of paper. Around 3 people completely took over the task and I don't think it was a fair task to set when the group is so large - there's no way all 10 people are going to have equal opportunity to give their input.
Additionally, we were put into pairs and given a customer scenario and a budget and had to choose items that suited from the shop floor. (Sadly my partner and I messed this up as we misheard the budget and were under-budget in our choices - not good when they want you to constantly try and get the customers to spend more money.)
Overall, I thought it was an unfair way of interviewing candidates because everyone was not given the same length of time to answer the questions. For example, we were specifically told to give our biggest strength and biggest weakness in one word answers, but the first half of the group all gave answers around 30 seconds long each (most listing being a perfectionist/working too hard as their biggest weakness - come on, just be honest and give a real weakness), and then the rest of us were so rushed that I honestly don't think the interviewers even listened to our answers.
I tried to be very honest but positive in my answers and not be sickly sweet and over the top like many of the people around me. I understand you need to be out-going to work at Disney, and I am, but I don't feel comfortable having to fight to have the limelight and try to one-up the answers of other people who want the job just as much as me, which is what people were doing.
Was told we would definitely hear back within ten days, but it would most likely be within 72 hours. It's been more than ten days and I have had no follow-up. It's not difficult to call people up and say "sorry, you've been unsuccessful" or at least send some kind of automated email. As someone who is a real Disney lover and who had such high hopes for this recruitment process, I am very disappointed with the company and to be honest, it has put me off applying to work there again.
