Interview
Applied for the placement programme in December and sent of my CV and Cover letter. Got a call the following week for an invite to an assessment centre.
Started the day nice and easy with an icebreaker to get to know the other candidates (there were 10 of us), the interns who were our 'escorts' for the day, and the managers/supervisors who were interviewing us. They did a little pop quiz about Disney just to get rid of any nerves and they had some prizes which you could win if you did well on the quiz (I won a cuddly Pluto!). Then we had a tour of the Disney Head Office and the interns spoke a little about what their roles and their responsibilties were.
After this is when we had all the tests and interviews. The order of the day varies but these are some of the things that you might have to do:
- 2 x Group exercises
- 2 x one-to-one interviews
- Excel Test
- Maths Test (non-calculator)
It was a very long day, but it was really enjoyable and the current interns and the interviewers made you feel as comfortable as possible. I'd say the most difficult test was probably doing the group exercises because you really have to think on your feet and think outside the box for solutions.
The next day I got the phone call that I got the job!

Interview
Interview started off with a 20 minute phone screen from the recruiter, then a 30 minute interview through Bluejeans with the hiring manager, then a 2 hour interview with the team and hiring manager. No technical questions or case studies, they were all pretty much behavioral and going through my resume.

Question 1
Describe a time where you took initiative?
Why Disney?
The interview process was terrible. The internal recruiter was unprofessional and severely uninformed about the position, salary, and benefits. She often provided inaccurate salary and job information over the phone with family screaming in the background.
