I applied online around a month prior to receiving my interview invite. I applied online and received an email invitation to a group interview, which I accepted. (I interviewed for Cast Member but ended up being offered Lead Cast Member/Shift Leader without having to further interview). There were around fifteen of us at the interview, and they were holding group interviews all day. We were first asked to talk to the person next to us and find out: 1) their favourite Disney Character 2) their retail experience 3) an interesting fact about them We then had to relay this back to the group. The girl next to me was VERY sweet and we got along really well. After this we were split into groups of five and given a brief each. My group had a brief of 'A grandparent has come into your store and told you they've just had their first grandchild and they're not sure what gift to buy them'. There were a bunch of Disney Store items on the table so we had to decide as a group what product we wanted to sell, discuss between us then tell the group why we picked that product. Remember to point out key product details, the price, relate to the customer, give Disney facts where you can and try and upsell a box or bag! My group were told that we picked the product that that they would've picked themselves and got some great feedback. We then got asked a few typical questions such as 'what do you think you'll be doing during a work day?' and it's really important to get yourself noticed and speak up as much as you can without talking over everyone else. Really try and make yourself stand out! Ask your own questions! We had opporutnies to ask our own questions, then were told abour the store opening date, some training information and general information like uniform standards etc. Was informed that we would be told the following Monday or Tuesday about how we did. We would receive a phone call if successful and an email if not.
