This process was unnecessarily drawn out for months. The team did not seem to know what they were looking for, and in one interview, a manager basically said they were still shopping for talent. It was a very chaotic process and in a final interview, it was obvious that there was no real user experience buy-in throughout the organization and that they were looking for one person to fill many many roles. There was no structure to my interviews and I ended up presenting a non-technical case study in my last interview, which was odd since this is a technical company. I was asked to describe what makes me 'sparkle' above the rest of their candidates. Red flags galore. I got mixed reviews for my design exercise, mostly positive, but a desire to curate the solution further to their company needs. This was a little awkward, as I already spent a lot of time on this exercise and I am not interested in doing free consulting. Overall, it was drawn out, all over the place, and in the end ...unprofessional.
