One of the oddest interview processes I've ever experienced. I interviewed for a director role at WebstaurantStore in late 2025. I was well qualified for the role. First interview was a typical screening. Second interview was odd. The interview was conducted by someone that would have been my direct report. This person had been there for several years and it was obvious I wasn't being seriously interviewed. He asked me absolutely no questions about my actual experience in the field. A lot of personality fit questions, and made it clear I was "interviewing to be his boss". Felt like a huge conflict of interest from the get-go and weeks later his job title was updated to the one I had interviewed for.
